They convey a theme, a voice, or a moment in time, passing them on to those who read them, now or in the future. What makes a book enduring and memorable is rarely just one thing: it is the relationship between content and form — the text and the visuals — but also the paper we touch, the size, the rhythms, and the visual narrative arc.

I organise source material and develop editorial design, graphic elements and illustrations. I can also incorporate documentary photography.
The end result is designed to be cohesive, with form revealing content without overpowering it. The visuals are integrated in such a way as to create an atmosphere and interact with the text, establishing a fluidity that accompanies the narrative as it unfolds across the pages.
I support projects through to the final production stage, taking into account paper choice, format, finishes, and production coordination.
